Sequel to Final Fantasy IV announced.

That is right, a pre-Playstation Final Fantasy game is getting a sequel. After getting a GBA port and then a DS remake, Final Fantasy IV is getting a mobile phone based continuation. Titled Final Fantasy IV The After - Return To The Moon, players take on the role of Theodore, Cecil’s blood descendant. Not much else is known about it, other than that it is supposed to release in 2008 in Japan and will probably never come out over here. It would seem that with all the attention it is getting, Final Fantasy IV is the new Final Fantasy VII.

Sounds pretty sweet. Too bad it sa mobile game. Same with Parasite Eve 3.
What on earth is sweet about it? The fact that Square is proving they have no qualms with whoring out every single FF game they made for a quick buck?
I’ve never played any of the cell phone games Square has made, but based on impressions I’m hearing, they aint worth playing. Also, FF4 was as wrapped up as RPG plots get when it ended. Any attempt to add onto that story would only cheapen it. I’m not saying it was a great story by any means (it’s dated in terms of RPG plots), but it really doesn’t need or want another chapter.
I guess its just nice to see something FF related that isn’t FF7, Tactics, Crystal Chronicles, or Kingdom Hearts.
I feel worse for Parasite Eve fans, since the actual Parasite Eve 3 is a mobile phone game.
