New Wii Virtual Console Games - 10/1/07
By Cokomon • Oct 1st, 2007 • Category: Nintendo, Video Games, WiiBeen a while since I did a Virtual Console game update, but today’s is something to talk about. Let’s get the most important one out there, previously Japan-only title Sin and Punishment has found its way onto North American Wiis. This Nintendo 64 shooter was developed by Treasure and released late in the N64’s life. It has developed a cult following and is highly praised by its fans. In addition, today marks the Virtual Console release of Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. This is the actual NES version of Super Mario Bros 2 from Japan, not the Doki Doki Panic reskin nor the version that was in Super Mario All-Stars. It is exciting to finally see Japanese only titles being brought over via the Virtual Console, and I continue to hold out hope for Mother 3.

- Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (NES - 600 Wii Points)

This is the best VC release yet imo. People already know how I feel about Sin and Punishment (possibly the greatest game ever). And as for the Lost Levels, unlike other VC releases, this game was available only in remake form for North America. I don’t think I’ll pick it up, but I’m tempted to. I really hope Nintendo keeps releasing Japan only titles here! If they do, they will be seeing a lot more purchases, at least from me.
