New Xbox Live Arcade game - Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
By Cokomon • Mar 21st, 2007 • Category: Microsoft, Video Games, Xbox 360What is a game? Nothing but a miserable little pile of data.
Today sees the release of another long awaited Live Arcade game, making this a good month for Arcade fans after a lackluster February. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is an epic platformer-rpg hybrid that has been the basis for all of the recent Metroidvania games seen on the GBA and Nintendo DS. Originally released on both the Playstation and Saturn, SotN is a fan favorite and is considered by many to be the best game in the Castlevania series. If you missed it originally on the PS1 and weren’t man enough to import it on the Saturn, take a look at today’s offering. But enough talk, have at you!

Tried it out yesterday,’snot so bad. I don’t recall there being any voice-acting in the original game but there is some decent stuff now. Not sure if its really worth the 800 points, but it would be indisputable if it were any less.
Um, there was voice acting in the original, and it was glorious.
“Not sure it it’s really worth 800 points”
You are weird. Before the game was reprinted people paid as much as $80 for this game used. And it was well worth it! I was lucky enough to get it before the price went up. But I would of paid the big bucks easy.
“I don’t recall there being any voice-acting in the original game…”
Hot damn. I remember their being voices but, after seeing Cokomon and Mad Mage run through it again, the writing sucked a**. You know the rule of things being so bad, it’s good? I don’t see that here guys, sorry. However, I will say, the game itself is glorious to every extent otherwise.
