Play import Gamecube games on your Wii. No modification or swap disk!
By Mad Mage • Mar 10th, 2007 • Category: Video Games, WiiA relatively easy way to play import Gamecube games on your Wii has been discovered. This is great news for those like myself who have some Japanese Gamecube games but have unhooked their import-enabled Gamecube since getting a Wii.

To play your import gamecube games:
1: Insert a normal gamecube game into your Wii.
2: Move your Wiimote cursor over the start game button in the disk channel.
3: Hit eject on your Wii console. When you eject the game, after a second, the start game button will dim and be un-pressable. You have to hit start game right before the button dims.
4: The game will eject. Quickly pull it out and push you import game into the slot.
You have to time it right. I got it on my second try. Here’s an awesome video that shows to how to do it with perfect accuracy, courtesy of screw attack.
New to import gaming? The Gamecube is hardly the best system for it. but here’s a list of great Japan-exclusive games. You can probably pick ‘em up cheap from Play-asia. Just be sure to use the BRU link!
Mr. Driller Drill Land (easily best Mr. Driller yet)
Kururin Squash (surprisingly fun and great multiplayer)
Naruto 4 (great four player fighter even if you aren’t a fan of the series)
Nintendo Puzzle Collection (budget title which includes Dr. Mario, Yoshi’s Cookie and Panel De Pon which is just like Tetris Attack)
Mad Mage Mad Mage is the be-all end-all source for Japanese video game knowledge. If he doesn't know about it, it didn't happen.
