Lumines Live getting more content?
By Gosha • Jan 19th, 2007 • Category: Microsoft, Video Games, Xbox 360Officials from Microsoft have announced that Q-Entertainment’s music puzzle game Lumines Live will receive three bonus packs, each value priced for a month, following online backlash to its previous break-out pricing.
Announced for January 24th, Microsoft and Q-Entertainment are providing 3 new content packs for the Xbox Live Arcade game, Lumines Live. Two of the new packs provide expanded functionality to the base game while the other provides a new skin for players to enjoy.
The VS CPU Pack provides new skin designs and CPU opponents for players to compete against. The Puzzle/Mission Pack will feature an additional 90 puzzles and 40 missions in addition to the original game’s 10 puzzles and 10 missions. When made available, these two content packs will retail for 100 Microsoft Points ($1.25) each. After February 21st, they will be available for 300 Microsoft Points ($3.75).
Also available between January 24th and February 21st is the Heavenly Star Skin, a song featured in the PSP game Lumines 2 and was directed by Q Entertainment’s Tetsuya Mizuguchi himself. This featured download will only be available, for free, to Xbox Live Gold-level members but only for a limited time.
The pricing of these packs comes in response to the dismay many people expressed last October when Lumines Live was released. Gamers who spent the 1200 Microsoft points for the Base game were disappointed when they found that they had to spend an additional 600 Microsoft points for the Advance pack.

I picked up these content packs yesterday. They were pretty nice. The VS CPU pack was easy, but it was nice to get some new skins for Skin Edit mode, including Heavenly Star.
